The year 2010 will be ending in such a tremendous speed.
During 2010 we had everything in great amounts:
much of the sunshine, much of the warmth, much of the fun and much of the excitement... and last but not the least: we have much of the snow here in our country at the moment.
So to finish this year, I am wishing all the best for the year 2011 to all the people who are the followers of my homepage!

A weekend in Helsinki visiting the most important dogshow of the year in Finland - "Finnish Winner 2010".
At first it was meant to be the weekend of double dogshows, but as it was a snowstorm "Monika" in Estonia, due to this, we had to postpone going to Helsinki at Friday. So we missed the show at Saturday, but luckily managed to be present at Sunday.
The entry of English setters at FIN Winner was 27, the judge: Lawrence Llamas (Gibraltar).
Our crazy-Grace was entered to junior class competing with 4 other junior bitches.
Oh, what a funny show day it was!
And besides, we have never ever received such a "peculiar" description from any judge, according to which it seemed that the judge was paying so much attention to handling of the entered dogs, that we lost because Grace did not want to show her teeth to the judge so well.
Here is the description from the judge:
"Super head and expression. Very good neck and excellent front and rear with super movement. Slightly long in loin, but acceptable. Possibly best in her class, but her temperament is getting her down today. She really needs to get sociable".
So, our Grace got the result of: junior class "excellent" 3/5.
After this Sunday now we are practising some good behaviour with Grace and we are trying to watch the teeth of Grace every day.
Besides, I have entered us to the dogshow practice class which starts in January.
Sometimes loosing to someone depends only on such a tiny detail: you have to show your white teeth!

A weekend spent in Tartu taking part in two international dogshows.
I cannot exactly say that I enjoyed this passed weekend, but the more important was that our crazy-Grace received 2 x junCAC, 2 x BOB, 2 x junBOB.
If to be critical, I would say, that too many people - too small space for all the dogs to hold a dogshow.
At some point it seemed that the organisers of the show wanted to break the world record in amounting as many dogs and people as possible into one narrow room - they certainly succeeded in this and probably could get into the Guiness records' book too.

07.11.2010 - judge Jos de Cuyper (Belgium):
result: junior class "excellent" 1/1, junBOB, Best bitch 1, BOB.
Sadly our Grace was the only English setter entered at both days.
At Saturday we also tried to compete at the best in group competition, but certainly did not expect any luck under the judge from Uruguay.
At Sunday we decided to drive home instead of waiting for so many hours for the best in group competition in the dense room, where for being "you have to stand on one foot".

How quickly the time flies... During the last days I have spent some time to read my memories from the last year.
It feels really like it happened yesterday, but in reality one year has passed already.
And they are big girls now - teenagers!

So we made it - together with our "crazy"-Grace we travelled to Ahvenamaa to take part in Eckerö International Dogshow.
At first I thought I cannot never-ever make Grace to concentrate on standing still in the show ring and run properly there, because Grace is THE English setter: the wild girl always full of everything else to do than standing.
But this was not a problem, and together we must have run very well there in the show ring, as the judge Wim Wellens (Holland) said many nice words about my youngster, and finally gave us the BOB title with CAC.
Oh boy, was I happy! As Grace is only a puppy - 11 months old, we had a very strong bitch's competition: 9 bitches from different age and type, this was the very first indoors dogshow in junior class, and besides, all other dogs were much older than Grace.

The next show for us will be in November.

I have also updated my Picasa album with the photos from our long trip to visit some southern countries in Europe.
We also visited Roxy and Nicole and Hans near Punitz at Pferde Paradies.
Thank you Nicole and Hans for all the lovely time together!! It was so educating to learn about and watch the beautiful horses you have!

P.S. After quite a long break in taking part in dogshows, I have been planning now to spend some "money" and time on this hobby too.
And I am so anxious waiting to visit the romantic Aland islands again at the end of September, this time together with our Grace to compete at the Viking Line Int. Dogshow.
Of course we will have a very nice company there :-) - otherwise the trip would be useless :-).

Seaset Silver Snowwhite "Roxy" together with her owner Nicole in Austria attended the Setter Derby Show in Kärnten and received the title of Junior Master of Setter-Day together with v1, Jugendbester, Jugendclubsieger under the judge Peter Sandiford from England.

Life here goes smoothly taking the most from the wonderful sunny summer and enjoying the warm sea water.
Our Grace started her very first season just now, therefore we had to make some changes in plans for the coming weeks and stay home to wait for the male dogs to calm down again.
We have made a trip to Denmark a couple of weeks ago (just without dogs this time) - the pictures of the journey can be seen in my Picasa album.
There are a lot more miscellaneous photos there in this album - enjoy!

P.S. I am thrilled and inspired about my new macro lens for the camera, so I think there will be a lot more photos coming soon!

I got the news from Nicole from Austria, that Roxy is doing well and they have attended some international dogshow in Hungary getting "very promising 1".

After quite a long pause in taking part in the dogshows, we attended the Estonian Setter Club annual Special Show, which was held in Tallinn this time. The judge for all setters was Mr. Ronny Blomme (Belgium).
The show was significant also because our little Grace made her very first debut in dogshows.
Lot of thanks to Marika Kuusman who helped us in making Grace into a good-behaving showgirl. So, Grace behaved well and ran to BOB puppy and later even BIS1 puppy.
I am also very thankful to Anne-Stiina, who handled Grace so well.
Grace's description: "Excellent type. Correct balance. Nice type in head, nice and correct expression. Correct topline and tailset, excellent forechest, ribs, bone and angulations. Correct coat and colour. Happy and sound movement. Very promissing."

Our "mummy Annie" has not yet fully recovered from getting puppies, as she is a little bit overweight - Annie received excellent 1 being presented in champion class.

I got the lovely news from Nicole (Pferde-paradies) that little Seaset Silver Snowwhite "Roxy" was attending her very first dogshow ever and received the reward of BOB baby and BIS1 baby.
What a nice start!

Now we can already say that the year 2009 has ended.
The year 2010 started with such a pile of snow covering the ground and the more is coming...
At the moment we have not made any big plans for this year, but certainly you will see us at some dogshows here and abroad.
