It is nice to end the year from this point with the results from the "Vilnius Cup 2015" dog show.
We will take a short break now for a while and start again at some time from somewhere during the next year.

Shanty has now fulfilled the C.I.E. title requirements.
Vicky has been applied to EST & LV & LT & BALT junCH title. Besides she has already some Junior Winner titles from this year.
So, from now on both of our dogs will be shown only to specialists judges of our breed.
Who knows maybe we will be also travelling to the homeland of the English setter breed at some time during the year of 2016 with our 2 show dogs.

I could not take part in the "Vilnius Cup 2015" International Dogshow due to the parental duties taking care of our grandchild, but I was lucky to have two helpers by Anne-Stiina and Andrus, who drove to Vilnius, Lithuania, to take part in that show.
And this time it was worth it, because English setters were judged by the specialist judge Mr. Sjoerd Jobse (Sweden).
Of course it was a pity that the entry was quite a low, only 4 English setters this time, as the judge really is a specialist on all setter-breeds.
I could have not been more proud to get the highest evaluation for my dogs:
Shanty received "excellent" 1 in open class with CAC, CACIB, BM1, BOB.
Vicky was also "excellent" 1 in junior class being BOBjun, BB1, BOS and receiving junCAC with which we can apply for LT junCH title for her.

And as a cherry on the cake both dogs got the nicest descriptions ever written about them:
Shanty: "3 years beautiful male with excellent condition. Gorgeous head with kind expression. Beautiful neck & topline & tailset. Very well angulated, excellent body & substance. Good bone & feet. Wonderful powerful movement. Glorious coat & condition. Beautiful example of the breed."
Vicky "13 months very well made bitch. Lovely feminine head with a naughty expression. Beautiful muzzle, nice neck & topline. Harmonic angulations. Excellent body for age. Lovely bone & feet. Very nice movement when she wants to with good reach & drive. Glorious coat & condition.".
This evaluation from that show day is the great encouragement for to own this wonderful breed type of the English setter breed and the proof that we are doing the right thing here.

Nordic Winner 2015 International Dogshow was held in Stockholm this year and we decided to take part in it, because this time it was a good luck to have the judge from the homeland of our breed.
Mrs. Carole Coode (UK) judged and the entry of English setters was really impressive: being 22.
Our show duo of Shanty and Vicky both received very lovely positive descriptions.
Shanty being presented in open class was: Best Male 2, with CACIB.
Vicky received excellent 1/3 in junior class with NORD JW 2015 title.
Although Vicky showed also the wildest part of herself being probably the naughtiest behaving dog at the show, we enjoyed our day.
We loved our trip to Stockholm, if only the Baltic sea could have been more calmer during our voyage - but I survived and can probably apply for the seasailor duty from now on :).
Shanty received his 4-th CACIB needed for the International Show Champion (C.I.E.) title - I am so glad about it, as he is not yet 3 years old, but already fulfilling the requirements for this title!

So we went to Latvia again, this time it was Valmiera National Dog Show with the entry of 3 English setters and the judge Margaret O'Gorman from Ireland.
Both of our dogs got excellent with nice and long descriptions, but it was not that excellent with CAC for Shanty, as the judge wrote Shanty is so puppy-like and as he is still a puppy, he probably cannot have the adult CC. More often I do understand, but this time I am only asuming why Shanty got "excellent" without CC.
So we have to travel to Latvia again! - to try to get the final CC for Shanty.
Vicky did better. She got her second junior CAC from Latvia, although she only jumped in the showring and behaved very naughtily.
I do not know if it was because of me handling her, as she has always been handled by Anne, but I could not make her run properly at all.
Besides, the judge told me that I am not allowed to use any sweets or toys in the showring, the judge even wrote to the description, that: ...no food in site, please note!"
So this was that show day! But the show must go on for sure!

We drove more than 500km all up to Ventspils, Latvia to take part in the National Dogshow there.
The judge for setters was Zsuzsanna Vaczi-Balogh (Hungary). Entry of English setters was 4.
Vicky's result in junior class: "excellent" 1, PP, CC, junCAC, BOS.
Shanty's result in open class: "excellent" 1.
Vicky got her junior CAC from Latvia and can now apply for Latvian Junior Champion title.
Shanty needs one more try in Latvia for the Latvian Champion. So, we would need to make some more visits to Latvian dog shows.

To go, or not to go - that is the question!
We decided to go - the National Dog Show in Haapsalu, Estonia with the judge from Croatia: Tino Pehar.
Vicky was the only entry this time.
She got a nice description: "9 months nice young girl, still in puppy shape, good head, lovely eye expression, excellent body structure for age, correct angulation, sound movement for age", and received her third junCAC, became BOBjun and even BOB.
We did not stay until the finals, as it would be too long time to wait with this little active girl - so sorry, but true.

Back home from the show weekend here in Estonia.
At the moment it really seems that 3 days in row for dog shows is a little bit too much for us, but inspite of this, both of our dogs got nice results.

Friday, 21-st of August; the Group Show for FCI VI & VII; judge: Jelena Kruus (Estonia); total 11 entries of English setters:
We had only Vicky entered. After the show had ended, we came to the conclusion that I will never enter any of my dogs to any of the Estonian judges again.
Jelena Kruus was very critical about little Vicky, she almost shouted all over the show ring how overweight our youngster is. Then together with the trainee judge she laughed and made jokes about it. How peculiar behaviour from the judge, if not to say that it was simply unpolite!
The result was that Vicky got "excellent" without CC.
Too fat - was the main issue of that day!

Saturday, 22-nd of August; Setter Speciality Show; judge: Michele Ivaldi (Italy); 17 English setters entered:
This day went more smoothly and everything was well organised at this show.
Shanty's result: "excellent" 2/3, CC, Best Male 2.
Vicky's result: "excellent" 1/2, CC, junCAC, BOBjun; junBIS4.
So, Vicky, being in junior class age only for 2 weeks, received her very first junCAC.

Sunday, 23-rd of August; "Baltic Winner 2015" Int.show in Tallinn; judge: Claudio de Giuliani (Italy); 19 entries of English setters:
Shanty's result: "excellent" 2/4
Vicky's result: "excellent" 1, CC, junCAC, BOBjun, "Baltic Junior Winner 2015".
At all days there were only 3 English type English setters entered, we did our best to keep up the spirit and received the most that was possible in this competition.
Vicky only needs one more junCAC for the title of Estonian Junior Champion!

We started towards Finland already the day before to reach Joensuu to take part in the International Dog Show there.
There were 10 English setters entered to the judge from England: Mr. Moray Armstrong.
Our naughty pair Vicky and Shanty behaved well enough to get nice results and excellent descriptions from the gundog specialist judge from the homeland of our English setter breed.
Especially our little Vicky, whose description was (quoting):"Super baby with lovely breed type. Excellent head. Lovely dark eye. Well constructed front. Nice bone & feet. Good body & topline & quarters. In super coat and condition. A quality puppy!"
What a joy and proud we are to read these words about our Vicky!
And I am especially very thankful to Marika (kennel Sign of Constancy) for the help in training Vicky for the dogshow - as she behaved well and run like an angel :).
Great was our surprise about Shanty, who received "excellent 1/2, CC, Best male 1/3, CAC, CACIB, BOB, as we did not actually think he will do it as being so young, he still needs more coat. But we truly are very-very happy for the result of our team!

Quick visit to Latvia with Shanty and Vicky to take part in the CAC-show near Ogre.
This was Vicky's first trip with motorhome: she was behaving and coping well, so there will be many other trips in the future too.
The entry of English setters for the judge Chris Hancock (Ireland) was 5.
Shanty's result: open class: excl.1, CC, CAC, Best male 1/2, BOS.
We are very happy as now there is only one more CAC to obtain from Latvia to gain the LVCH title.
Vicky's result: puppy class 1, HP, BOBpuppy.

National Dogshow near Tallinn at Luige in the pouring rain.
The judge for English setters was Annika Ulltveit-Moe from Sweden.
There were only 2 entries of English setters, one in baby class and the other our Vicky in puppy class.
The baby English setter got the HP, but according to the judge our Vicky was not so much in standard of the breed - so the judge did not like her for Honour Prize.
Probably the judge forgot to read the standard of English setters before the show?!

Special Show for FCI VII & X Groups in Tallinn with the judge for setters Mr. Sjoerd Jobse (Sweden).
Vicky had her debut in the dog show world competing for the very first time ever.
Oh, how I was afraid she will not behave.
But inspite of all the doubts in her, Vicky was behaving well. The judge liked her a lot describing her: "6 months lovely puppy, nice outline, good proportions, beautiful head, sweet expression, lovely neck & topline, excellent croup, balanced angulations, good spring of ribs, nice bone & feet, lovely movement for age."
Vicky's result: BOBpuppy, Honour Price.
As our Grace is in season at the moment, we had some trouble with Shanty, as he could not concentrate much to dog showing.
But for the right moment Shanty pulled himself together and got the nice description with excellent 1/2, CC, Best male 1, BOB.
It was a pity that the show was so much late from the scheduled time and we could not stay until the finals of the show in the evening because of little baby-Vicky and her needs.
So, this was a nice day for us!

Oh yes it is cold here in Estonia when compared to the nice weather in Czech and Austria.
We started for Austria a week ago, and now we are back home feeling cold.
The reason for travelling, of course, were the 2 clubshows held during the weekend of 09-th & 10-th of May.
I only took Shanty with me.
At Saturday the entry of English setters at Czech Clubshow was 21, judge Julia Pataki (Hungary).
Shanty ended his show with getting "excl. 4/5" in the open class males.
At Sunday at the Austrian Clubshow the entry was 18 with the judge from UK: Mr. Chris Atkinson. Shanty's result did not differ much: "excl. 4/6" in the open class.
Although Shanty received lovely descriptions from the judges at both days, it seems that the good luck at the dog shows has left us, or is it just that Shanty is too young to compete with more mature male dogs in the open class, or is it just the wrong dog shows we are taking part.

We spent the weekend in Finland attending the clubshow (not-official) of Kanta-Hämeen Setterit & Pointterit Ry at Sunday.
The show itself was held in a lovely atmosphere in a spacious agility hall with the entry of 19 English setters.
The judge invited was from England, a dachshund and pointer breeder: Mrs. Joanne Blackburn-Bennett.
This time the judge did not pay much attention to Shanty not valueing our Shanty's qualities with any positive remarks on the description list.
Shanty was presented in open class with the entry of 4 dogs receiving "excl. 4/4" with no possibility to compete for best male.

We were visiting England: Crufts in Birmingham and after spending some days in London - having a real good time there.
Unfortunately our trip was so short that we could only have a glimpse of it - I hope to return at some day in the future.

As we have been away from the dog shows for some months now, but I had entered Shanty to the International Dogshow in Tallinn for this weekend, I suddenly faced the truth that I do not wish to go there. And there even was a change of the judge at the last minute, so I was scared about how it all will proceed.
We also had to leave somebody home to take care of little Vicky. As Marika (kennel Sign of Constancy) was willing to help in handling the wild-boy-Shanty, it all seemed to be arranged well so, that Anne-Stiina stayed home with Vicky and we went to the show.
Shanty performed into perfection with Marika, received excellent 1, CAC, CACIB, BOB and was even chosen BIG4 from 9 beautiful entries in the FCI VII group.
The entry of English setters was 3, breed judge: Hannele Jokisilta (Finland), group judge: Michael Leonard (Ireland).
So this was our day!

We made a short trip to Belgium to visit Bournefield kennel near Antwerp.
And we did not come home without any luggage - the cutiest and the most beautiful little blue belton girl Bournefield New Dawn "Vicky" came here to join our family.
Vicky is a brave and outgoing puppy, surely our house is now full of energy and joy!
I am so thankful to Mrs. Leen van Genechten for trusting us to nourish this adorable pup.
